Kat's Kool Coaster/coaster holder and coasters-Design tech project

My two projects: one of my projects is my coaster and the other is my coaster holder the plan was to make a cute coaster holder that had little things I thought of when I thought about my family I used a laser cutter and the CNC router to make a hole in my coaster holder so I can glue it together. I liked the fact that even though the drawings I chose didn't come out exactly how I wanted them too they still came out cute and better than I expected and are the perfect size for a cup and they absorb water pretty well. What was challenging about the project in my opinion was definitely the coding and figuring out what size to make certain aspects and having to resize or remove aspects of the coaster so you can fit it on the wood. I would maybe make my art look less pixelated and try to make my coasters a little bigger.
I will gift it to my family and let them use it and I will keep one to myself to remember my hard work

  My coaster project, which I based on four different Taylor Swift albums, was a unique and fun experience. Prior to my work in this course, my skills with 2D design, laser cutting, and engraving/cutting materials were basic. Throughout this project, I learned different skills and became more confident in my 2D design work.      For me, the most challenging part was designing the coasters. I wanted to make my coasters resemble the four album covers as best as possible, while still making sure they would translate well when being engraved. However, with the help and feedback from my teacher, I successfully created four designs that were both replicas of the album cover and looked good when engraved. Quidditch Set coasters - Max Barger

 Quidditch Set Coaster Project     For my coaster project, I wanted to do something that represented one of my top interests. I chose to design and create something Harry Potter related. Through this process, I changed the design and made lots of edits to ensure I could create my ideal design. I ended up going with my first idea and made three different coasters with designs based on Harry Potter's Quidditch set and the definitions on the back.       To make these awesome coasters, I had to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator as well as the proper procedures for the laser cutter and the CNC router. Prior to this, I had virtually no experience with these materials and tools, so it was a long process that was definitely worth learning. Game of Thrones Coasters

I made 4 Game of thrones coasters, in about 10 class sessions, starting with adobe illustrator, I found images that I wanted to put on my coasters and I inputted them into illustrator and cut them. I personally didn't encounter any problems with my cut, but a lot of my classmates did. I was the first person to cut, because I didn't have that many, and also because adobe illustrator was super intuitive and easy to use (in my experience).  While making the coasters I encountered a couple problems, most of them in the planning stage, things like finding images were pretty difficult, but when I found an image it was pretty much smooth sailing (I triple-checked everything while using the machines, which might be part of my success).
